Everyone is excited when getting to know that they will be having a new member in a home sooner. Especially a couple to be parents is excited. For the new arrival all the family members start shopping. Toys are the most common when there is a newborn in home. Parents buy a huge collection of toys for their newborn.
In my personal opinion it is wastage of money. Buying so many toys is not a proper way. An infant is not able to play with toys. After his third month he is able to be attracted to the colors, revolving items and sounds. You should buy toys at that stage and only those that are suitable to his age.
At the age of six months now the baby is able to hold things in his hand and take them to his mouth. On this stage you should buy the toys like rattles, which are having a fine material. As the baby will take the toy in his mouth it should be of a fine material so that it cannot harm him. The toy should not be so hard. It should be soft and light weighted for baby to easily carry and play.
At his ninth month the child will start rubbing things on his gums because at this stage most of the kids start growing teeth and they feel irritation and itching on their gums. There are tethers available in the market especially made for baby gums. They are very helpful for them. You can have different colored tethers with different shapes.
At the first year completion now is the time to get him wonderful toys like stuff toys, bicycle, tools, baby piano and toys with different sounds and movements they will really enjoy the activities. Similarly with the growing age you can buy advanced toys for him, which he can easily understand and play with. So try to give your baby a toy according to his age level so that he can enjoy it in real sense otherwise it will be just wastage of money.
